RE: Lancer Academy – Update for Virtual Academy
Dear Parents and Guardians of Incoming Lakes High School 9th graders,
In recognizing the safety for everyone we will not be holding an in-person Lancer Academy this year. Instead we will be holding a Virtual self-paced Academy. We know how nervous incoming Freshman can be. We are sad that we will not be able to offer this course live but still wanted to provide our incoming Freshman with some tools to start their first year of high school off right.
Our staff has put together a virtual self-paced Lancer Academy. Students will be able to access this material through their school issued laptops. Students will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the Lakes campus and staff members. The videos and program were put together by some of our amazing students in our Ignite Mentors and ASB programs.
Be on the lookout for another email regarding details about Lakes laptop distribution. Laptops will be issued out to students by grade level and then by last name. Freshman will be issued their laptops on Monday, August 17th, 2020.
