Hello Lancer Families,
I hope this message finds you all well and enjoying your weekend. Hard to believe we are already in to the month of March! Spring is coming and as usual March presents us with some interesting weather to say the least! Below you will find celebrations, updates and reminders!
Celebrations
A Queen has been coronated
We are so very proud to announce that our own Vivian Llorens Hernandez has been selected as the 86th Daffodil Queen! Great job Vivian! We know you have represented Lakes and the Clover Park School District well and will continue to do so!
Congrats Cassidy on your musical successes
Cassidy Reibestein performed last month in the All-Northwest Honor Band in Bellevue; one of the best trumpet players in six states' worth of auditions! She also won the First Alternate spot to state at our regional solo & ensemble competition on February 4th. In January, she was one of our students we sent to the PLU honor band, and in November she participated in the WIBC Honor Band in Seattle. Making all-northwest is a real accomplishment; it's a tough audition process and it's only held every two years. She was placed first in the honor group's trumpet section and played some great solos at the concert! Congratulations, Cassidy!

On Time and Focused
We know as we have come back in to this school year some students are still struggling to stay focused for 90 minutes and getting to class on time. Please let us know how we can support our students to settle back in to these processes! We are working as a staff too, to use our 90 minutes of instruction in ways which help students have a voice in their learning, to vary instruction and allow for movement. Please do check in with your child, and we will too about what works best in the classroom for them. We know we need to engage our learners and they help us to do that when they are on time to class and focused
